Product details - Ear Ossicles Set

The ear ossicles set by Erler Zimmer includes reproductions of the tiny bones of the middle ear in natural size in a transparent petri dish with foam insert.

The middle ear is composed of three tiny bones: the malleus (or hammer), incus (or anvil), and stapes (or stirrup). These bones carry and increase the amplitude of sound from the eardrum to the inner ear. These bones are found in the tympanic cavity of the temporal bone. When assembled to reflect their formation, they are small enough to fit on a fingernail. The ossicles are available in a fitting foam insert inside a transparent plastic petri dish. They can be removed easily.
