Clinical centrifuges use centrifugal force to sediment various substances in test tubes or centrifuge tubes. These sample tubes are set in a uniform circular motion around a central point. The enormously high number of rotations and the resulting centrifugal force separate solid from liquid substances. The higher the density, the further the material migrates outwards, displacing substances with a lower density. The Different Rotors of Centrifuges
