The Helix test is a steam permeation test for hollow bodies according to EN 867-5, mainly in the dental field. The test is meant to control the sterilisation processes of class B Autoklavs (fractured pre vacuum procedure). Class B Autoklavs should be Helix-tested every day prior to the first sterilisation, to check for leakage or NGK within the steam. The Helix test includes a test device and 250 indicator strips. Exchange the test device after 250 charges are used.
